Instead of going out to dinner, buy good food. Cooking at home shows such affection. In a bad economy, it's more important to make yourself feel good.

As I mentioned in my healthy Halloween snack post for kid parties at school, I am not so fond of feeding kids junk at the holidays. Healthy sweets are good in moderation, but unfortunately, the holidays are being filled up with processed food that is terrible for our growing kids and their immune systems.
I found these 5 snacks and more via a quick search on Pinterest using the term “healthy Christmas snack.” These ideas are out there, and they’re easy for homeroom moms and school parents to make. Don’t forget to check out the last one in case you need a fun food craft for elementary kids to make.

These look great! I wonder if my kids would actually eat snap peas if I made them look like a Christmas tree. Intriguing. . .

Mine like to pop the peas out of the pod. They do the same thing with cooked green beans. Silly kids!
