Instead of going out to dinner, buy good food. Cooking at home shows such affection. In a bad economy, it's more important to make yourself feel good.

I’m getting back into the routine of making bread, yogurt and other kitchen prep items. However, my bread machine container is broken and not fixable. I’m going to see if it’s worth replacing the container or looking for another bread machine at the local thrift shop. Of course, I could make bread by hand though I’ve gotten used to the convenience of making bread all in one container with the bread machine.
I tried a new soup recipe last week, Thai Coconut Chicken Soup, which turned out to be a keeper. This week, I’m making a batch of potato leek soup which may or may not make it into the freezer.
On the holiday front, I’ve been searching for Valentine’s Day recipes on Pinterest and pinning them. Even though Valentine’s Day falls on a Thursday this year, I’m hoping to get a plan together to make a breakfast for the kids, a surprise snack for lunch, and then go with our standard Spaghetti and Meatballs for dinner. If stars align, we’ll have a yummy chocolate dessert for dinner. If they don’t (since I offered to help out at school), I’ll save the dessert for Friday night.
